About the role

The Barista is responsible for creating an amazing experience by interacting with guests and preparing and serving tea, coffee, and espresso drinks. You will work in an on-trend national brand or an iconic local concept, delivering first-class experiences for the traveling public while upholding our service standards and core values: TRIFIC (Trust, Respect, Integrity, First-Class, Innovation, Commitment).

Responsibilities

• Embody a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Warmly greet, acknowledge, and take guests' drink and food orders within 30 seconds of their arrival.
• Operate coffee-making equipment, including dismantling and cleaning machinery as needed.
• Prepare and present beverages according to established recipe and presentation standards.
• Accurately total, process, and collect payments using the point-of-sale system, including handling cash, credit/debit cards, and making change while complying with company cash handling and loss prevention procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge and enthusiasm about the restaurant's menu and products.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by resolving issues or concerns, escalating to a Manager if necessary.
• Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
• Assist with new team member training by reinforcing successful performance.
• Support other areas of the restaurant as requested, such as seating customers, answering telephones, stocking, cleanup, and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including trash disposal, sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing.
• Achieve positive Secret Shopper scores and ask appropriate SMG-related questions for positive feedback.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including those related to food safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Food and Beverage experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service-focused and solution-oriented.
• Ability to take direction and collaborate in a team environment.
• Ability to work in a high-energy and demanding environment.
• Knowledge of math for cost calculation, making change, and cash handling procedures.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as with team members.
• Able to work unsupervised for extended periods and demonstrate good judgment when dealing with customers and peers.
• ServSafe Certification or equivalent preferred.
