Paper Machine Shift Supervisor

Description

The Paper Machine Shift Supervisor is responsible for operational responsibility from the Head Dandy (HD) through Stock Prep, Wet End, Dryer Section, Coater, Winder, Roll Line and Color Plant. Key responsibilities include reporting and addressing safety concerns, monitoring quality, leading troubleshooting efforts, and managing costs and environmental impacts.

Requirements

• 10+ years of paper machine operational experience or a BS in engineering with previous papermaking experience (preferred)
• Adequate computer skills including e-mail, Pi, Opti-Vision, Kronos, intranet applications, Microsoft Office, SAP stores/WO functions, etc.

Qualifications

• Proactive safety activities such as Two minute drills, safety contacts, audits, JHA, HR cards, etc.
• Quality management including understanding the WestRock Quality policy and applying these principles to resolve daily issues.
• Production/mill reliability including coordinating stock, steam, and water balance with other departments to optimize production.
• Cost management including identifying and addressing losses/wastes of fiber, water, steam/condensate, chemicals, etc.
• Environmental compliance including understanding the Mahrt Operations Environmental Policy and reporting any environmental excursions immediately.
