Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is seeking a Panelboard Machine Operator on B Shift.
Schedule
Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:00 AM
Pay
$19.25 per hour. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.
- Work from travel documents, blueprints, and oral or written instructions to set up, operate, and perform periodic maintenance on machines including tapper, shear, Finn Power, Prima Power, Franklin Punch, Vertical Press Brakes, Horizontal Press Brakes/Benders, Trumpf Laser, Ras, Spot Welder, Boschert, R41/R5, and Ehrt.
- Maintain expected progress of jobs in your area and communicate concerns appropriately.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and complete root-cause analysis in response to quality or production issues.
- Ensure quality by measuring finished parts with tape measures and/or calipers, performing visual inspections of material, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.
- Cross-train and stand in for other employees/job functions as needed.
- Work with some degree of independence and make decisions that affect the workgroup.
- Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, including meeting the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Minimum one year of experience as a machine operator or graduation from a machine certificate program.
- No relocation benefit offered; only candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the Sumter facility will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication, including standard punch and bend tooling and processes.
- Experience reading blueprints with decibels, directional or power-flow readings, bending/assembly manufacturing diagrams, or operating instructions.
- Experience with measuring devices (e.g., tape measure and calipers).
- Experience with Eaton systems including DMM, Swift, and AS-400.

Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle and feel.
- Frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and grip.
- Frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds.
- Frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds (with or without accommodation).
- Vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination.
- Regularly required to communicate with staff leaders, coworkers, and other personnel.
Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to noise.
- Frequently exposed to dust.
