Panel Painter
Job Overview
The Painter prepares surfaces, applies coatings, sands, acid washes, and touches up products. A typical day involves:
- Applying masking tape and caps to protect non-coated parts and components.
- Applying wet coats of epoxy and urethane coatings to manufactured products.
- Adjusting spray gun valves to control spray width and pressure.
- Pulling triggers and directing spray onto work surfaces to apply prime or finish coats.
- Cleaning and maintaining all spray equipment, including booth maintenance.
- Making suggestions for improving assigned work.
- Fulfilling instructions, both written and verbal, from lead persons and production supervisors.
- Operating equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspecting work for compliance with standards.
