Palliative Care Physician Job with UPMC in Altoona, PA
About the role
The UPMC Altoona Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship is seeking a certified family medicine or internal medicine physician with board eligibility or board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine to join their team as a faculty attending physician. Experience in academic medicine is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provides consultation and management services in the inpatient setting, in the outpatient palliative clinic, and at three local nursing homes.
- Works alongside a team of four physicians, four advanced practice providers, a fellow, a licensed social worker, a pharmacist, and a medical assistant/secretary.
- Learns from a variety of subspecialists and oversees residents on their geriatric rotations, occasionally precepting residents in the family medicine office, and providing coverage to the inpatient medicine service while still seeing their own family medicine patients in the family medicine office.
