Palliative Care Physician

About the role

The Division of Palliative Medicine at Cooper University Hospital is seeking a board-certified Palliative Care Physician to join the team. This is an opportunity to work with a diverse patient population in a nationally recognized cancer center and Level One Academic Trauma Center providing comprehensive care to individuals with serious, complex or life-limiting illness.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient and ambulatory consultation for complex medical decision-making for goals of care and symptom management in serious illness.
• Foster team collaboration and a multidisciplinary approach to care throughout the health system, including work on advance care planning improvement.
• Perform timely documentation in the EMR and participate in didactic education for GME trainees including HPM fellow, and other housestaff/fellows.
• Participate in or lead quality improvement projects, develop educational interventions, and collaborate with the Internal Medicine and Family Medicine Residency programs.
• Encourage taking on administrative or educational leadership responsibilities within the Division and demonstrate a record of scholarly activity, as documented through invited lectures, curriculum development, or publications.

Requirements

• A doctorate degree is required.
• 3 - 5 years of experience required, 6 - 10 years preferred.
• MD/DO required.
• Board certification in Hospice and palliative medicine required.
• NJ medical license and DEA required.
