Responsibilities
- Adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) during production, sanitation, and handling materials and ingredients.
- Maintain and make adjustments to equipment to control designated weights on an individual package or case weight basis.
- Meet production performance requirements in a fast-paced work environment.
- Transfers finished products and raw materials to identified location in the plant/warehouse or on production line.
- Adhere to all safety requirements including the wearing of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as prescribed for each work activity or job.
- Perform CCP checks as needed depending on location in the plant and during manufacturing.
- Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner.
- All food safety and human safety concerns need to be reported to appropriate personnel such as shift lead, shift supervisor, QA technician, Safety Manager, FSQ Manager, etc.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Educational Requirement: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience Requirement: Two or more years industrial equipment or food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Skills Required: Ability to apply good judgement and understanding to carry out detailed instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Ability to communicate production issues, counts and weights to supervision or lead personnel; Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Forklift/Pallet Jack Certification a plus
- Knowledge of GMP and safe food manufacturing practices a plus
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; climb or balance; and taste or smell.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasional exposure to high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
