Responsibilities

  • Adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) during production, sanitation, and handling materials and ingredients.
  • Maintain and make adjustments to equipment to control designated weights on an individual package or case weight basis.
  • Meet production performance requirements in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Transfers finished products and raw materials to identified location in the plant/warehouse or on production line.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including the wearing of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as prescribed for each work activity or job.
  • Perform CCP checks as needed depending on location in the plant and during manufacturing.
  • Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner.
  • All food safety and human safety concerns need to be reported to appropriate personnel such as shift lead, shift supervisor, QA technician, Safety Manager, FSQ Manager, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Educational Requirement: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Experience Requirement: Two or more years industrial equipment or food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Skills Required: Ability to apply good judgement and understanding to carry out detailed instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Ability to communicate production issues, counts and weights to supervision or lead personnel; Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Forklift/Pallet Jack Certification a plus
  • Knowledge of GMP and safe food manufacturing practices a plus

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; climb or balance; and taste or smell.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
