About the role
The Pallet Picking Associate is responsible for a variety of duties that contribute to the daily success of the Outbound functions (pick, pack, ship, etc.) within PDC. This is an essential onsite role requiring regular attendance.
Responsibilities
- Locate, retrieve, and move product in a timely manner from location to location (e.g., large and oversize area pick to put racking in pack) or from pallets/crates for storage or shipment.
- Use a Stock Picker, which may require going up to 30 feet to pick orders.
- Transport non-conveyable product to an area where it can be actioned or conveyable product that needs to be processed (e.g., return to stock, cancelled orders) using an RF device.
- Assist in locating product to be expedited when needed.
- Pick parts using a handheld device that directs you to the location.
- Operate and adhere to all Power Industrial Vehicles (PIV) policies and equipment rules (e.g., Stock Chasers, Order Picker, Turret Trucks, Forklifts, Ride-on Pallet Jacks) with limited supervision.
- Actively participate as a team member to meet departmental goals.
- Uphold the highest safety standards.
- Maintain organizational KPIs.
Requirements
- Acquire and maintain forklift certification (provided by Digi-Key).
- Regular and exemplary use of Order Picker, Turret Truck, 8900 (motorized Pallet cart), and Forklifts.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Basic computer navigation and typing skills.
- Ability to provide a positive, professional, and enthusiastic outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and change focus quickly based on requests by employees/management.
- Quickly and efficiently solve problems; collaborate with peers and leaders as needed.
- Manage time well to keep the flow of parts and orders moving.
- Dependable, responsible contributor committed to excellence and success.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
- Perform repetitive motions involving hands, head, and other body parts.
- Spend 8–10 hours walking/standing on concrete.
- Routinely lift 5–10 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs, and rarely up to 77+ lbs (with lift assistance).
- Push boxes, occasionally up to 50 lbs, from the heavy box lift to conveyor.
- Ability to twist, bend, and occasionally climb stairs.
- Reach with hands and arms above shoulder level.

- PIV equipment (Order Picker, Turret Truck, 8900, or Forklifts)
Pay
Starting base pay rate: $20.00/hour. Additional shift, skill, and/or team lead pay differentials may apply.
- Full-Time Day Shift: $21.00 starting rate ($20.00 base pay + $1.00 allowance).
- Full-Time Evening/Overnight Shift: $24.00 starting rate ($20.00 base pay + $1.00 allowance + $3.00 shift differential).
- Full-Time 3-12 Shift: $23.34 starting rate ($20.00 base pay + $1.00 allowance + $2.34 allowance for 36-for-40 schedule).
- Part-Time: $20.00 starting rate ($19.00 base pay + $1.00 allowance).
- Seasonal Day Shift: $20.00 starting rate ($19.00 base pay + $1.00 allowance).
- Seasonal Evening Shift: $23.00 starting rate ($19.00 base pay + $1.00 allowance + $3.00 shift differential).

Schedule
Hours: Tuesday – Friday, 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM.
