Pallet Division Assembly Technician

About the role

Ascentec Engineering is seeking an Assembly Technician to join our Pallet Division. We are an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of electronic assembly tooling. This position is onsite (not remote/not hybrid) and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.

Schedule

Day shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with flexibility to work occasional overtime and Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work with precision machined parts while assembling, cleaning, deburring, sanding, and lapping
• Use power and hand tools: chop saw, drills, Dremel, torque drivers, files, pneumatic sanders, etc.
• Install hardware and electromechanical assemblies
• Perform preventative maintenance for selected handheld tools
• Check parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and dial gauges
• Other tasks as defined by leadership

Requirements

• 1 year in a production/manufacturing environment highly preferred, but not required
• Experience installing rivets, studs, standoffs, and Heli coils is a plus
• Able to read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and drawings
• Use of Microsoft Office tools
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) to conform to ITAR requirements
• Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check prior to employment

Working Conditions

• Standing, reaching, bending down and over, squeezing, and lifting throughout an 8-hour shift
• Constantly lifting up to 10 lbs; must ask for help lifting over 35 lbs
• Typically sitting while doing actual assembly
• Noise level in production is low to moderate; occasional high-pitched noise from air nozzles and Water Jet cutting

Pay

$18 to $22 per hour
