About the role

The Forward Deployed Engineer plays a critical role in helping clients transform their operations through the deployment and customization of Palantir software solutions. This role requires a combination of technical skills, client-facing abilities, and a strong commitment to delivering measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams to design, build, and support client-facing applications.
  • Translate client objectives into a detailed delivery plan, including gathering requirements, analyzing data, and defining a roadmap from prototype to scaled deployment.
  • Prototype and iterate quickly, building from scratch when necessary and validating with users.
  • Deliver production-grade solutions that turn client data into operational workflows and decision support.
  • Align and communicate effectively, writing clear requirements, sharing progress with stakeholders, and driving work to release.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in data engineering, including ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, and large-scale data integration.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with Palantir Foundry building data pipelines, managing datasets, and deploying applications within Palantir Foundry and/or Palantir Gotham.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with prompt engineering and applied AI techniques within Palantir (AIP, model deployment, feature engineering).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Python OR PySpark OR Java.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent (minimum 12 years work experience), or Associate’s degree with minimum 6 years work experience.

  • Bias for ownership: Work independently, drive decisions, and be accountable for results.
  • Track record of delivery: Ship software/analytics that produce measurable, real-world outcomes.
  • Collaboration and client-facing communication: Work effectively with teammates and clients across technical levels; embed with customer teams when required.
