Responsibilities
- Prepares surfaces for coatings, as required, for all assigned interior or exterior tasks.
- Makes minor repairs as required, evaluating historic fabric for in-kind replacement of materials.
- Performs painting/staining tasks, as assigned, ensuring quality and professional work is always completed and the proper coating color, sheen, etc. is applied.
- Accountable for the care, maintenance and security of all assigned materials, equipment and tools.
- Accountable for proper and accurate documentation of labor and materials into CMMS, for work performed.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and complies with all current related codes and regulations.
- Maintains a location-specific paint log indicating all aspects of products and where utilized.
Qualifications
- Have at least one year of commercial painting experience.
- Be proficient in the operation and use of equipment and tools common to the painting trade.
- Have general knowledge of OSHA requirements.
- Be capable of and willing to advance his or her painting knowledge and expertise through on-the-job training and self-study.
Physical Requirements
- This position will require the use of respiratory protection and will require compliance with applicable regulations, including a clean-shaven face and to be able to pass a DOT physical.
- Must be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must possess physical stamina to withstand heavy labor related to work in an outside environment.
- Must be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and crawl for extended periods of time as required.
