Painter (Wet Coat)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understands and follows all safety rules.
• Understands gun, pump, and other equipment operations and makes adjustments as trained to produce quality parts economically.
• Follows proper paint procedures including distance from gun to part, flow rates, air pressure and overlap.
• Cleans and prepares surface of article to be painted.
• Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
• Operates E-coat system load control panel.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired viscosity.
• Performs preventative maintenance as scheduled.
• Works overtime as needed.
• Troubleshoots equipment.
• Racks work pieces on conveyor, inspects, and transfers parts into and out of department.
• Operates powder gun.
• Performs inventory transactions.
• Identifies proper paint via structure information.
• Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray.
• Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
• Loads and moves materials to work area.
• Responsible for the safe handling, transfer & labeling of Hazardous Waste as detailed in the annual RCRA training class.
