About the role
Utilize quality and knowledgeable paint/repair practices to wallpaper, paint, and repair drywall.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, operate, and repair work projects.
- Comply with and provide data during work progression to establish job standardization programs.
- Provide reports of operations, maintenance, and repair to supervisory personnel.
- Maintain craft or trade upgrading to increase proficiency and promote operational and maintenance efficiency.
- Operate spray gun, hopper, climb ladders, and operate lifts to work in high areas using rollers, brushes, taping tools, and paper tools to paint, tape, texture, and wallpaper.
- Remove and reapply paint finish to furniture using hazardous chemicals and paints.
- Repair and maintain buildings and structures.
- Climb ladders to paint ceilings and walls, reaching awkward positions from floor level to paint baseboards.
Requirements
- Ability to effectively deal with internal/external customers, some of whom may require patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and solve customer concerns.
- Ability to act independently.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to complete work orders, trip tickets, blueprints, and communicate with superiors and other employees.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to measure and determine supplies and cost estimates.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to use brushes, rollers, power drills, spray equipment, rulers, straight-edge razors, hand tools, ladders, trowels, and taping equipment.
- Ability to perform considerable physical activity continuously throughout the shift, including grasping, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, lifting, or moving goods weighing up to 100 lbs. to a height of 6 feet using a handcart or truck.
- Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift.
- Ability to climb ladders or stairs to complete job duties.
- Ability to perform duties in confined spaces.
- Ability to support a utility belt weighing up to 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis.
- Ability to reach overhead for extended periods.
- Ability to push or pull paint supplies weighing up to 800 lbs. using a handcart on an intermittent basis.
- Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
- Ability to maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.

- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
