About the role

Currently hiring for night shift (Mon-Thu, 8pm - 6am) in Mayfield, KY. The painter/sandblaster will clean, sandblast, prep, and paint locomotives and locomotive components with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean locomotive and locomotive components
• Prepare locomotive and components before painting
• Paint and clear coat locomotives and components
• Install decals
• Read precision instruments, micrometers, and gauges accurately and safely
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Complete and document jobs per traveler requirements, QWI’s, and work instructions
• Operate the following equipment:
  • Electric and air-operated hand tools
  • 5-gallon paint pots
  • Bobcat, forklifts, and man lifts
  • Industrial pressure washer
  • Full-face respirator with filter or fresh air
  • Other equipment and tools
• Work around and operate overhead cranes and mobile equipment
• Utilize pressure washers, pressurized paint delivery systems, and sandblasters

Requirements

• High school education or GED
• Certification in industrial painting or auto body preferred
• Industrial paint or auto body collision experience preferred
• Ability to use a full-face respirator with filter or fresh air
