Job Summary
Painting, pressure washing, and other duties relating to maintenance are the primary duties. Maintain equipment and tools associated with duties.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Assists other Maintenance Technicians as needed.
- Performs preventative maintenance on systems and equipment as required.
- Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs performed on any equipment or system.
- Works days, evenings, or nights as required performing required duties.
- Participates in the department's on-call schedule.
- Performs manual duties as requested (i.e., moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash, scrap material).
- Prepares and smoothes surfaces; removes old paint; matches paint and paint surfaces in a timely manner.
- Pressure washes surfaces without damaging; uses appropriate mixture of cleaning solutions and maintains pressure washing equipment in good working condition.
- Uses and maintains basic tools required to perform duties.
- Responsible for the proper and safe storage of open paint containers and other regulated materials.
- Attends in-service meetings, daily meetings, and fills out work order forms.
- Responds to code red alerts.
Qualifications
- Must pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Valid Florida drivers license in good standing.
- Experience in building/facility maintenance, painting, and some Vo-tech experience would be beneficial.
Skills
- Knowledge of chemicals to use for machine.
- Knowledge of pressure levels to avoid surface damage.
- Surface preparation techniques such as scraping, sanding, and priming.
- Color matching and color theory basics.
- Identifying and addressing paint defects.
