Painter / Journeyman

About the role

Acts Construction is seeking qualified candidates for the Painter / Journeyman position. In this role, you will perform routine to complex surface preparation, select appropriate paint materials, and use various application techniques to achieve a high-quality finish. You will also remove old finishes and prepare surfaces for interior and/or exterior painting, apply coats of primer, paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer, assist with ordering paint materials, estimate paint needs, and coordinate schedules with other phases of work. Additionally, you will maintain inventory of supplies such as paint brushes, tarps, chemicals, etc.

Responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation and select appropriate paint materials
• Apply coats of primer, paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to achieve a high-quality finish
• Remove old finishes and prep surfaces for interior and/or exterior painting
• Assist with ordering paint materials, estimating paint needs, and coordinating schedules with other phases of work
• Maintain inventory of supplies, including paint brushes, tarps, chemicals, etc.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of painting experience
• Construction or maintenance related experience preferred
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods

Pay & Schedule

The starting rate will vary based on skills and experience, but the pay range is $22.97 - $28.54 per hour.
