About the role

We are actively seeking a dynamic Painter II to join our growing team at our Indianapolis location. This position is responsible for performing skilled equipment painting and refinishing work on heavy equipment, and related components.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced surface preparation, including sandblasting, media blasting, grinding, filling, and repair of damaged surfaces.
  • Apply industrial coatings, epoxy finishes, polyurethane paints, corrosion-resistant coatings, and specialty finishes using spray systems and other application methods.
  • Evaluate equipment condition and determine appropriate preparation and coating processes.
  • Mix paints and coatings to manufacturer specifications and ensure proper curing and finish quality.
  • Operate and maintain paint booths, airless spray systems, compressed air equipment, and other specialized painting tools.
  • Inspect completed work for appearance, adhesion, coverage, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Estimate material requirements and project timelines.
  • Troubleshoot coating failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Train and provide technical guidance to Painter I employees and other staff.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and hazardous material regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of progressively responsible experience equipment, industrial, automotive, fleet, or heavy equipment painting.
  • Experience with spray painting systems and industrial coating applications required.
  • Thorough knowledge of industrial and equipment painting techniques.
  • Knowledge of coating systems, corrosion prevention, and surface preparation methods.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, product data sheets, and work orders.
  • Skilled in spray application techniques and paint equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations related to painting operations.
  • Ability to work on ladders, platforms, and around large equipment.
  • Ability to work in varied temperatures and industrial environments.
  • Ability to mentor and train less experienced employees.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Commitment to company vision and mission.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Pay

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience.

Schedule

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
