PAINTER I
About the role
The Department of State Hospitals-Napa has a limited term vacancy for a Painter I. This is a 12-month Limited Term position that may be extended up to 24-months and/or may become permanent.
Responsibilities
- Applies undercoats and finish coats with brush, roller, or spray machine
- Mixes and matches paints and finishes; performs color blending
- Estimates labor and materials needed; keeps simple records; orders and stores materials
- Accounts for daily square footage of paint job done
- Instructs and leads unskilled workers
- Scrapes, sands and fills surfaces in preparation for painting and finishing the interior and exterior of buildings
- Cleans and maintains brushes, rollers, and other equipment
- Erects and paints from scaffolding, rigging, and ladders
- Engraves or paints simple designs; paper hangs
Pay
$4,930.00 - $5,901.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable. Effective July 1, 2025, state employees are subject to temporary salary reductions in exchange for Personal Leave Program (PLP) accruals.
Schedule
This is a full-time, in-office position located in Napa County.
