About the role

CEIS Power is seeking a motivated Painter Apprentice for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a growing industrial manufacturing and service company. This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 6 months of shop, industrial, or equipment painting experience who wants to build their skills in a professional industrial environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable working in a fast-paced shop, and able to adapt to changing priorities and production demands. Experience painting industrial equipment, machinery, fabricated steel, or other large components is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and components for painting through sanding, grinding, cleaning, masking, and surface preparation
• Mix and prepare paints and coatings according to specifications
• Set up, operate, and clean paint equipment
• Apply primers, paints, and protective coatings using appropriate application methods
• Inspect surfaces and finished coatings for quality and coverage
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow safety procedures and company quality standards
• Assist experienced painters with daily production and shop activities
• Adapt to changing production priorities and work effectively under deadlines

Requirements

• 6+ months of painting experience in an industrial, manufacturing, fabrication, or shop environment
• Experience with surface preparation, sanding, cleaning, or masking
• Willingness to learn industrial painting and coating processes
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Reliable attendance and transportation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial shop environment
