Painter/HandyMan

About the role

The Painter/Handyman is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the manufacturing facility through painting, minor repairs, and general upkeep. This role focuses on non-technical, non-maintenance tasks that improve the condition and presentation of the plant.

Responsibilities

• Perform interior and exterior painting projects, including surface preparation, patching, sanding, priming, and finishing
• Touch up walls, floors, equipment, and designated areas throughout the facility to maintain a clean and professional appearance
• Complete general handyman tasks such as minor repairs, fixture replacements, basic carpentry, and small improvement projects
• Repair or replace items such as doors, locks, trim, shelving, and other non-technical components
• Operate equipment such as scissor lifts safely to complete elevated work assignments
• Follow all company safety procedures and ensure work areas remain safe and organized
• Identify and report larger or technical maintenance issues to the appropriate department
• Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in good working condition
• Absorb additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in painting and general handyman work
• Proven knowledge of painting techniques, tools, materials, and surface preparation
• Experience performing a variety of general repair and improvement tasks
• Ability to safely operate a scissor lift (certification preferred or willingness to obtain)
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices
• Strong attention to detail and quality of work
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple small projects
• Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to facility upkeep

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, climb, and lift up to 30 pounds regularly
• Comfortable working at heights using ladders or scissor lifts
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures

Pay

Hourly range is $20-$25 per hour
