About the role
We are looking for a Painter/Roadway and Grounds Crew Member to support our Kodak Rochester Facilities (KRF) group. The Kodak Rochester Facilities (KRF) group is responsible for the management of buildings and site services, contract and supplier management, supporting several operational areas, Eastman Business Park growth, and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
Painting
- Plans and performs all necessary preparation and painting refinishing of buildings (interior and exterior).
- Mixes paints to desired color, shade, and consistency using proportions of pigment, base, and thinner.
- Prepares surfaces properly for painting (wash, scrape, wire brush, etc.).
- Applies paint, enamels, etc. to proper thickness, using brush, roller, or spray; knowledge of a paint sprayer unit is recommended.
- Erects and dismantles scaffolding as needed; moves ladders.
- Protects floors and furniture from splattering paint; moves furniture as necessary.
- Cleans area after painting; cleans brushes and other painting equipment.
- Performs other special duties requiring comparable skill and responsibility as directed by supervision.
- Interior painting: office and breakroom type areas.
- Exterior painting: buildings, line striping of parking lots with paint sprayer, bollards, and safety symbols.
Roadway and Grounds
- Assists in the maintenance of all landscaping within the Rochester Sites, including Eastman Business Park locations, acres of parking lots, roadways, turf, pavement, fencing, guardrail, and guard posts.
- Operates dump truck and loader for landscape maintenance and project work, such as transporting topsoil, decorative stone, mulch, and crushed stone products.
- Performs snow removal in areas not under contract during winter months.
- Conducts spring and fall grounds clean-up, weekly bed maintenance, weeding, pruning, and yearly mulch application.
- Performs tree and shrub pruning as needed.
- Plants seasonal plants and flowers.
- Mends minor pothole repairs with cold patch material.
- Provides roadblock, sign coordination, and installation.
Requirements
- 2-5 years’ experience in painting and general campus roadway and grounds work.
- Knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in painting and roadway/grounds maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of safety issues in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Hands-on experience working with materials.
- Strong, working knowledge of painting techniques and methods.
- Proficient in using electrical and hand tools as well as measurement tools.
- Ability to climb a ladder.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing duties, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Qualifications
Educational level typically acquired through the completion of high school or hands-on experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis.
Pay
Estimated Salary: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
