Painter Finish
About the Role
You will be the Aircraft Painter for the team responsible for setting up various types of spray painting equipment and applying primer, finish, and protective paint and paint-like coatings to parts and subassemblies.
Responsibilities
- Obtain paint types, colors, number of coats, and areas to be painted from work orders, engineering drawings, and process specifications.
- Mix paints to specified proportions and to obtain proper consistency for application.
- Perform incidental preparatory duties such as cleaning and preparing surfaces for painting and masking to skin breaks or other physical references.
- Lay out for, mask, and spray all types of primer, finish, and protective coatings on surfaces of detail parts and sub-assemblies.
- Make operating adjustments to painting equipment to control spray pattern, density, and splatter as required.
- Spray paint crew, equipment, passenger, stowage, and wheel-well compartments, and other interior surfaces of unstuffed major aircraft assemblies.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen — this position is located at a facility that requires special access.
- One year of production spray painting experience, either aircraft or auto body (ability to operate spray painting equipment and use acceptable spray painting techniques).
- OR one year’s experience in the application of decals and spraying stencils, or other equivalent experience.

- Commercial or Military Aircraft painting experience.

- Strong knowledge of spray painting techniques and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process specifications.
- Ability to work with decimals, fractions, and proportions.

Additional specific benefits are dependent upon the business unit and the collective-bargaining agreement.
(Washington state applicants only) Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
Pay
$22.08 - $47.70 per hour.
Salary is a general guideline and considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, market (work location), and business considerations when extending an offer.
Schedule
3x12 — Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Monday-Thursday off).
