Painter - Facilities - Bayfront Hospital

Responsibilities

• Works independently from work orders or verbal instructions to paint buildings, structures, equipment or furniture using a brush, roller, spray gun or other applicator
• Caulks, puts, or plasters holes and cracks
• Prepares various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding or other means as necessary and prime/seal surfaces prior to finishing
• Prioritizes urgency of job requests and notifies supervisor of any problems or delays with projects
• Installs wallboard, base, ceramic and floor tile, and wall coverings
• Selects and mixes materials, matches colors and tints for spray, brush, or roller painting of walls including poly mix
• Covers or otherwise protects furniture, flooring and other surfaces from paint spattering
• Removes any spattered paint or overspray
• Maintains inventories of paints and supplies
• Performs glass and glazing repairs as required
• Knows rules, regulations and procedures to safely use and dispose of paints and solvents
• Cleans and cares for brushes, spray guns and other equipment
• Maintains a safe, clean and orderly condition in work and shop area
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• No formal licensure/certification required
• Three (3) years’ experience as a painter
