Responsibilities

• Perform abrasive blasting and painting operations using specialized marine coatings.
• Apply coatings to meet specific contract, specification, and quality requirements.
• Interpret and follow blasting and painting standards, including: – Surface preparation and blast profiles – Mil thickness requirements – Environmental and application tolerances
• Execute blasting and painting tasks as directed by supervision across various shipyard environments.
• Follow all safety procedures that meet — and often exceed — industry standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in industrial or marine blasting and painting.
• Understanding of coating systems, blast profiles, and mil-thickness requirements.
• Ability to work safely in demanding environments, including heights and confined spaces.
• Strong attention to detail, dependability, and teamwork.
• Must have a minimum 3 or more years experience as a painter/blaster.
• Able to identify and correct blast and paint deficiencies as required by the contract specifications.
• Able to sand blast and demonstrate how to utilize each part of the blast equipment.
