Painter

About the role

A Painter at Bastian Automation is responsible for the general painting of material handling equipment projects, with a primary focus on producing high-quality paint finishes that meet specified mil thickness requirements. Additional duties include assembly, fabrication, and general repair and maintenance of shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality painted parts from blueprints with a low rejection rate, with guidance as needed.
• Perform paint prep using sanding, grinding tools, acetone, and xylene, with guidance.
• Maintain a neat and organized workspace.
• Demonstrate mutual respect for coworkers and maintain a positive attitude.
• Arrive to work on time daily.
• Work overtime when necessary.
• Follow safety protocols per Job Safety Analysis (JSA).

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of wet paint experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• General knowledge of paint guns, paint booths, and paint accessories.
• Positive attitude and ability to handle tense situations.
• Team player who can take direction.
