Responsibilities

• Use brush, airless, compressed air and roller methods for painting protective coatings to piping, fixtures, and equipment.
• Apply epoxy, latex or enamel coatings using appropriate techniques.
• Select and mix coating additives to thin or promote drying and adhesion.
• Remove old paint and prepare surfaces using high pressure sandblasting equipment, chemical application, power tools, and other abrasives to eliminate rust and foreign matter.
• Prep and prime surfaces prior to coating.
• Wear respiratory protection as required by many applications.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3 years’ experience in the construction field.
• 40 or more hours per week with possible weekend work.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Trained and qualified to build scaffolds, inspect ladders, and operate man lifts to access work areas.
• Able to read, write, and communicate clearly with supervisor/co-workers and understand directions.
• Proficient in basic math, able to read a tape measure or ruler, and use a calculator to determine paint quantities.
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds, climbing, bending, twisting, standing, and reaching repetitively.
• Able to operate moving equipment and work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments.
• Must be able to work at heights up to 200 feet and wear a respirator when necessary.
• Industrial experience required.
• May be required to pass a drug test and criminal background check based on job location/requirements.
