About the role
Pepper Construction is a national general contracting and construction management firm serving the private sector from offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio. The company combines the expertise of a national company with the hands-on approach of a local business, providing services including painting, wallpaper installation, and fabric hanging.
Responsibilities
- Select the best paint or finish for surfaces based on safety, durability, application method, handling ease, and customer preferences.
- Apply decorative finishes, including stenciling, gold leafing, and faux finishes, for the restoration of historic buildings and private residences.
- Handle specialty coatings projects, such as those on bridges and water towers.
- Install and hang wallpapers and heavy duty production vinyl wallcoverings.
Requirements
Must have the ability to read and follow detailed instructions, work independently, and adhere to safety protocols. Previous experience in painting and wallpaper installation is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Skills
- Attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work well in teams.
- Knowledge of safety regulations.

Pay is at union scale with union benefits provided.

Schedule
Hours are typically Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
