Painter

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation activities, including masking and sanding of product prior to painting or sandblasting.
• Perform spray painting functions related to preparatory undercoating, preservatives, and lubricants.
• Clean and maintain paint shop equipment such as air lines, fluid lines, paint pots, paint guns, and respirators.
• Ensure coatings are applied according to NOV or customer requirements.
• Clean and store empty paint containers for proper disposal.
• Maintain and change paint booth media filters and surface protectant coatings as needed.
• Properly contain hazardous waste generated from normal paint shop operations.
• Under general supervision, spray paint small, component parts prior to assembly and final coating.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities

• Complete pre-use inspections as required.
• Participate in facility inspections as directed.

Education & Experience Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have 1-2 years experience in industrial painting, with some blasting may be required.

Job Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass a fit test and wear a respirator.
• Must be able to work in all climates.
• Must be able to lift or move 25 pounds.
• Able to work overtime.
• Occasional use of vehicles and/or forklift required depending on business needs.
