Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting including cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, and priming to ensure proper adhesion
- Apply paints, coatings, and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
- Perform maintenance and repair of painted surfaces across offices, production areas, and mechanical spaces
- Apply industrial coatings such as epoxy floor systems and corrosion-resistant finishes to protect infrastructure and equipment
- Perform minor drywall, plaster, and surface repairs as needed to support painting activities
- Mask, protect, and cover surrounding areas to prevent damage during painting operations
- Operate and maintain painting tools and equipment including spray systems, lifts, and scaffolding
- Maintain inventory of paints, coatings, and supplies and coordinate material needs
- Follow OSHA and company safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials
- Support preventive maintenance programs by maintaining protective coatings on facility assets
- Cover coordination with other trades to support facility projects, renovations, and repairs
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with housekeeping standards
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional or industrial painting experience
- Experience with surface preparation and application of various coatings and finishes
- Familiarity with industrial coatings, including epoxy and protective finishes preferred
- Ability to operate painting equipment, lifts, and tools safely
- Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and proper handling of paints and chemicals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or facility maintenance environments
- Familiarity with corrosion control and protective coating systems
- Basic knowledge of drywall and minor surface repair techniques
Pay
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary for this role in New Jersey area is $29.65 - $39.4/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
