This is a position for an experienced Maintenance Painter in the Facilities Management department, focusing on painting and related tasks. The role may involve assignments in various areas and includes assisting with other facilities-related work as needed.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. Some nights, weekends, and overtime possible.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the appearance and condition of the hospital’s interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Paint walls, ceilings, doors, and other surfaces as assigned.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, scraping, and cleaning.
  • Mix and apply paint according to specifications.
  • Adhere to all infection prevention and life safety protocols associated with the work.
  • Maintain painting tools and equipment in good operating order.
  • Perform work on routine to moderately complex systems.
  • Assist with projects, patient room remodels, and other facilities-related tasks (plumbing experience is a plus).
  • Document work completed and in progress.
  • Work quickly and efficiently within the demands of a healthcare setting.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to repair and paint all types of surfaces in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with wall protection systems, wallpaper, and other protective assemblies.
  • Mastery of epoxy and multi-part coating systems.
  • Willingness to work hard and learn.
  • A valid driver’s license may be required.
  • Ability to comply with infection prevention and life safety protocols.
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need to see, read, and assess information, labels, equipment, and customer needs.
  • Frequent communication with customers, including understanding spoken information and alarms.
  • Manual dexterity for precise equipment manipulation (e.g., tools, computers, phones).
  • Lifting, pulling, pushing, and transporting equipment of varying weights, including heavy items.
  • Working on hands and knees, bending, stooping, crawling, laying, sitting, walking, and climbing.
  • Use of hand and power tools, with proper hearing and eye protection.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures, noisy or constricted spaces, and odors.
  • For roles requiring driving: sitting, seeing, and reading traffic signs and signals.

Pay

$24.10 – $36.68 per hour, dependent upon experience.
