Painter

Principle Function

Completes the painting scope of work in accordance with production standards established by the Painting Contractors of America (PCA) and the Fresh Coat painting company.

Specific List of Responsibilities

• Maintains the company standard, while working as a team player and supporter of fellow painters and the operations manager.
• Arrives at the job site at the precise start time and reports to the operations manager for work-specific goals and instructions.
• Respects customer boundaries and space.
• Aids in setting up a neat and organized area for our equipment, tools, and products.
• Knows the production goal for the day and monitors progress to ensure that goal is met or exceeded.
• Pre-plans for the next day.
• Protects surfaces of the home or project that is not to be painted using plastic, drop cloths, and tape.
• Ensures expert preparation by sanding, scraping, and priming as necessary to ensure proper adhesion.
• Applies coatings to painted surfaces to provide a smooth, opaque surface of uniform finish, color, appearance, and coverage.
• Takes steps to avoid cloudiness, spotting, holidays, laps, brush marks, runs, sags, ropiness, or other surface imperfections.
• Organizes the worksite to minimize disturbance to the client's home. Listens to and addresses any client concerns promptly and thoroughly.
• Removes empty cans, rags, rubbish, and other discarded paint materials from the site at the end of each workday.
• Cleans glass and paint-spattered surfaces upon job completion. Removes spattered paint by washing and scraping. Avoids scratching or damaging adjacent finished surfaces.
• Maintains professional appearance: hair combed, clean & neat, and wears clean painter whites with no more than 10% fabric covered in paint.
• Is punctual for all jobs.
• Learns and grows as a painter through the Branded Painter Advancement System Program.
• Establishes and maintains good will with clients and prospective clients.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested by Fresh Coat leaders.

Basic Personal Responsibilities

• Maintain professional appearance: Hair combed, clean & neat, and wear clean painter whites with no more than 10% fabric covered in paint.
• Be on time for all jobs.
