Starting wage: $23–$28/hour depending on experience. Weekend shift (Fri, Sat, Sun; 6 am – 6:30 pm) – 36-hour work week paid as 40 hours.
Responsibilities
- Perform paint preparation in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Bend, twist, and wear full protective gear (face/head, shoulders).
- Tolerate strong odors and extreme temperatures.
- Carry out additional duties, assignments, and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- At least one year of industrial/manufacturing paint-prep experience.
- Must pass respirator medical clearance and fit-testing (OSHA 1910.134).
- Complete confined-space awareness training (OSHA 1910.146) and annual refresher.
- Complete fall-protection and HAZCOM (OSHA 1910.1200) training.
- CPR/AED/First-Aid certified with annual refresher.
- Maintain professional, respectful communication with supervisors, engineers, and team members.
- Pre-employment drug testing required; ongoing drug-free workplace.
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to cold, heat, wet conditions, and very loud noise.
- Interior painting hazards:
- IDLH (Imminent Danger to Life & Health) from VOCs near 1000 ppm (Isocyanates).
- LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) 0–5 % with ventilation; exposure can exceed 10 % (IDLH).
- Carbon Monoxide (CO) 0–10 ppm.
- High slip/trip/fall risks and permit-required confined-space hazards.
- Exposure to toxic organic/inorganic substances and explosion hazards from solvents/paints.
- Risk of blasting injuries (lacerations, abrasions) and crane/heavy-equipment hazards.
- Exposure duration per procedure: 45 min – 2.5 hours.
PPE Requirements
- Chemical-protective garments (provided).
- Full-face respirator with organic-vapor cartridge or supplied air (provided).
- Chemical-resistant gloves (provided).
