Responsibilities
- Use prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform duties to the best of your ability while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward the job and the company.
- Continually increase knowledge and techniques through internal and external support.
- Review work orders to ensure product match and paint requirements are understood.
- Inspect prepped product for cleanliness, damage, or other non-conformance.
- Stop work immediately if a “substandard issue” occurs to resolve the issue or seek support.
- Wipe product prior to painting to remove oil and dirt.
- Prepare painting equipment and ensure paint parameters are within specification.
- Record all pertinent information on data sheets.
- Paint product to specified requirements.
- Perform visual inspections and conduct wet mil checks for proper paint thickness.
- Maintain a clean working area.
- Maintain equipment by cleaning paint guns, lubricating paint pumps, changing paint filters, and conducting preventive maintenance.
- Receive paint shipments by verifying bills of lading, unloading paint, checking for damages, and recording discrepancies.
- Secure the paint area at the end of the shift by locking doors, turning off the compressor and air valve, and bleeding water from the air tank.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one or small group settings.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions.
- Ability to handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Forklift License, Pulmonary Test Certification, and Mask Fit Certification.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Occasionally required to sit, talk, or hear.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Requires close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Loud noise level in the work environment.
