Painter

Responsibilities

• Performs industrial/commercial type painting, refinishing and spraying to structures, furnishings, surfaces, equipment and roads.
• Prepares walls, woodwork and other surfaces by stripping, patching, caulking, sanding, cleaning, or bleaching for finishing.
• Moves and protects furnishings and floor coverings before painting area.
• Posts wet paint signs where needed.
• Strips surfaces of old finishes with chemical strippers; refinishes and protects furniture.
• Sinks and paints finish on cabinets, bookcases, and shelves by spraying, brushing, or using a cloth to achieve desired color and tone.
• Paints structures and surfaces by applying coatings with brush, roller and/or spray in a uniform manner.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of commercial painting experience.
• Valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record.
• Some positions in this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.
