About the Role
Responsible for painting and providing a wide variety of maintenance repairs of the highest quality, referred to as “Service Requests / Preventive Maintenance Requests.” This position requires extensive guest contact, delivering service and attitude of the highest standards, quality, and professionalism. Empowered to exceed guest expectations and provide solutions to any challenges encountered during their stay, promoting return visits and building brand recognition. Also responsible for responding to internal service requests ("House Calls") with the same level of service. Strives to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests while exemplifying Wild Dunes Resort’s culture and promoting it as both a destination and employer of choice.
Responsibilities
- Perform “Guest Requests” as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Facility Operations or the Dispatcher.
- Respond to “Guest Requests” within 15 minutes and “House Calls” within 30 minutes of receiving the request.
- Perform “House Calls” as instructed by the Director or Assistant Director of Facility Operations, Dispatcher, or Housekeeping.
- Track calls in HotSOS by room number, time the request was received, response time, and completion time. Communicate this information to dispatch upon completion.
- Perform routine scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on assigned guestrooms and public areas, documenting in HotSOS.
- Perform routine inspections and repairs on VIP rooms as assigned, at least 30 minutes before scheduled guest arrival.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned shops, mechanical areas, tool carts, and tools.
- Report any unsafe conditions to your manager immediately.
- Support and ensure compliance with all Wild Dunes Resort policies and procedures.
- Conduct troubleshooting, programming, and replacement of guestroom televisions and associated equipment.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on plumbing, electrical, mechanical equipment, and facilities as needed or assigned.
- Track all associated inventory and maintain established inventory levels.
- Conduct walkthroughs of the hotel and surrounding grounds for lighting, quality, safety, and general condition, completing any required documentation.
- Accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must have a valid Driver’s license and meet resort driving standards.
- Must be able to drive guests safely in extreme weather conditions (rain, wind, fog).
- Must understand the usage of hand tools and some power tools.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbal and written.
- Must be highly detail-oriented.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
- Must have basic painting skills, including working with paint, stains, enamels, epoxies, and coatings.
- Must have basic skills for furniture repair and touch-up.
- Must have working knowledge of installation and repair of wall coverings.
- Must have working knowledge of drywall, drywall repair, mud, and taping.
- At least 2 years in the hospitality or service industry preferred.
- High School graduate or Technical/Trade School preferred.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walking.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs with assistance.
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently, and squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally.
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis.
- While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
- Must be able to climb stairs occasionally, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
