Painter

CTR Group is seeking a Spray Painter in the Norfolk, VA area for immediate openings.

Pay

$21 to $27 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Mix and apply epoxy and enamel paints according to specifications
• Read and interpret job specifications and complete work to required standards
• Work efficiently and independently without on-site supervision
• Follow proper paint induction times and apply coatings using spray painting or pumping (gas-free) procedures
• Understand the differences between critical and non-critical coated systems
• Apply marine coatings in accordance with safety data sheets and NAVSEA 718 product data sheets
• Perform surface preparation in compliance with SSPC standards: SP-1, SP-2, SP-3, SP-5, SP-6, SP-10, SP-11, and SP-12
• Use power tools associated with surface preparation and paint removal
• Follow NAVSEA 009-32 standard item requirements
• Perform work in confined spaces when required

Requirements

• Knowledge of marine paints, coating systems, and related safety documentation
• Experience with power tool cleaning and surface preparation
• Ability to work safely in confined spaces
• Strong understanding of marine coating application processes
