Painter

We are currently seeking an Industrial Painter for our Bessemer, AL yard location. This position will be responsible for applying paint to various products with brushes, rollers, and spray guns.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding and full performance ability in industrial painting techniques and procedures.
• Uses tools of the trade including brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
• Prepares surfaces using sandpaper, scrapers, and sanding machines.
• Works as part of a team to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
• Maintains, cleans, and organizes tools and equipment.
• Reads and interprets drawings, specifications, operational manuals, and equipment service manuals.
• Interprets sketches, rough layouts, standard drawings, and specifications.
• Follows necessary safety precautions.
• Understands oral and written instructions in English.
• Performs all other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an industrial painter or a similar position.
• Knowledge of practices, methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in industrial painting.
• Knowledge of painting techniques, paints, and other materials.
• Knowledge of methods for preparing surfaces for painting or finishing.
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to anticipate problems and take preventive or corrective action.
• Ability to work supervised or unsupervised and cooperatively with co-workers.
• Ability to use and care for general maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines with proven results.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
