Performs general maintenance painting, paint mixing, wall patching, stenciling, lettering, wallpapering, stain and finish work. Also handles complex molding repair and general maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Performs general maintenance painting; covers surfaces with drop-cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
- Smooths surfaces using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, or sanding machines.
- Applies primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats.
- Fills cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers using caulking guns or putty knives.
- Repairs or creates moldings as part of painting repair or prep work.
- Reads and interprets work orders or received instructions from supervisors or clients to determine work requirements.
- Estimates time and materials by job, orders supplies and materials as needed, coordinates projects, and completes documentation.
- Receives, plans, and documents work in a facilities and space management electronic system.
- Fills in for other painters as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Three (3) years of commercial painting experience and basic maintenance and safety skills.
Pay
Hourly Range: $26.47 to $39.70, dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Schedule
Full time, 40 hours per week. Day shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
