About the role
OSW Equipment & Repair, LLC, a subsidiary of Federal Signal Corporation, is the largest truck body and trailer manufacturer in the Pacific Northwest. As a Paint Prepper on our growing team, you are contributing to the success of the company by prepping company products for the painting process as well as assisting the Industrial Painters and making sure the final touch comes out perfect.
Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment, structures, or material
- Apply Cleaning solvents, adhesives, caulking, sealants, or coatings
- Mask vehicle body in preparation for painting
- Operate mechanized devices, or equipment
- Clean equipment or machinery
- Read work orders and instructions
- Organize, plan, and prioritize work
- Distinguish colors
- Follow all safe work practices
- Other duties as assigned by leadership
Requirements
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work with power tools, pneumatic wrenches, grinders
- Working knowledge of welding process is helpful
- Heavy-duty truck aptitude
- Strong organization, communication, and phone skills
- Demonstrate exceptional sales, customer service, and time management skills
- Ability to be extremely well organized, resourceful, and self-motivated
- Ability to problem solve and make appropriate business decisions with little guidance
Qualifications
High school graduate, GED, preferred. 1+ years of body shop experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Able to lift up to 50 pounds at times without assistance. Bending, twisting, lifting, kneeling crouching, stooping/crawling standing, walking a minimum of 50% of the time. Ability to work in spaces which may be cramped or require awkward positioning for a short time. Ability to withstand temperature extremes as some job duties will be performed outside in the elements.
Pay
Wage Expectations: $20.00 – 24.00 per hour. This is a non-exempt, hourly position and employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis.
Schedule
Typical Schedule: Four (4) Ten (10) hour days M-F, Overtime may be available on your 5th day of the week and/or Saturdays.
