Ferrara/KME are premiere manufacturers of fire trucks and emergency response vehicles offering a full line of pumpers, aerials, industrial, wildland, and rescue apparatus. Working hands-on with both municipal and industrial fire departments, the Ferrara/KME team thrives on diagnosing departments' current apparatus limitations and response needs to custom design the perfect fire apparatus solution that will stand the test of time. Ferrara/KME is part of Terex Corporation, a global designer and manufacturer of specialized vehicles and equipment, including fire and emergency vehicles, waste and recycling equipment, RVs, and machinery supporting construction, utilities, and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Polish sanded surfaces using an electric buffer and compounds with cloth or foam wheels.
- Remove masking after paint or apply masking prior to a process.
- Sand surfaces or parts using mechanical or hand sanding.
- Sand or grind areas to remove sharp edges, burrs, or defects in preparation for paint.
- Perform assembly or disassembly in areas of job function as required.
- Wash, wax, and clean exteriors, interiors, and engine compartments using various cleaners and equipment.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to read and understand English.
- Strong work ethic and team player mentality.
- Ability to climb, twist, bend, and stoop.
- Use of hands and ability to work overhead.
- Ability to stand, squat, and grasp.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Position Expectations

- Follow Ferrara General Health & Safety Rules, ensure safe operating conditions within area of responsibility, and notify coworkers and supervisors of hazardous acts and conditions.
- Proper use of PPE; use only defect-free equipment.
