Paint/Blast Helper

Essential Responsibilities

• Applies undercoat and finish coat using a wide variety of sprayed and brushed coatings.
• Mixing and application techniques are well established. Follows Manufacturer Data Sheets.
• Thins paints to proper consistency and viscosity for spraying or brush applications.
• Adjusts & maintains equipment to obtain the finish requirements.
• Does grinding, body filling, sanding, and masking of material to prepare for painting.
• Work is subject to final inspection. Consistently high quality with very little touchup or rework is expected.

Schedule Workflow

• Schedule workflow in the Paint Department to optimize productivity and efficiency while maintaining quality.

Maintain and Keep Equipment

• Maintain and keep equipment and area in a safe, organized, and clean condition.

Physical Demands

• Frequently lifts materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Operates cranes to lift/move items weighing over 50 pounds.

Observation of Safety Rules

• Observes company safety rules.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• During production hours, uses personal protective equipment (PPE) and additional protective equipment required for special assignments.

Additional Tasks

• Performs grit blasting and wears company furnished protective clothing and air helmet while blasting.
• Does other work as supervisor requires.
