Responsibilities
- Conduct initial evaluations, comprehensive assessments, and follow-up visits for patients with chronic and complex pain.
- Develop and implement individualized pain management plans in collaboration with patients and a multidisciplinary care team.
- Work closely with surgical, orthopedic, pediatric, medical, and oncology services to ensure patients receive timely, coordinated, and appropriate pain care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to address patient needs and optimize outcomes.
- Respond to patient calls and clinical questions, helping patients navigate their care and manage pain effectively.
- Perform minor procedures, when applicable and within scope of practice.
- Help shape the quality and delivery of care through roles as a clinician, consultant, educator, mentor, and contributor to research and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in the education and development of students, new employees, and other learners through clinical teaching, knowledge sharing, and skill training.
Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner: Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license in good standing, Current national Nurse Practitioner certification.
- Physician Assistant: Completion of an ARC-PA–approved Physician Assistant program, Active New York State Physician Assistant license in good standing, Current national certification through NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).
