Pain Medicine Physician

About the Role

Expanding well-established 100% interventional pain practice with 5 offices and 4 accredited ambulatory surgery centers in Lawrenceville, Stockbridge, and Newnan (locations based on schedules). The practice performs a wide range of procedures in both clinic and ASC settings.

Procedures Performed

• Spinal Cord Stimulator (SCS) trials and permanent implants (cervical and thoracic placement)
• Dorsal Root Ganglion (DRG) PNS trials and permanent implants
• Basivertebral nerve ablation
• Sacroiliac Joint (SIJ) stabilization
• MILD (Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression) and interspinous process spacers
• Via Disc procedures
• Other simple interventional pain procedures

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical and health problems presented by patients, including collecting historical medical information, diagnosis, investigation, and treatment.
• Perform interventional pain procedures on qualified patients.
• Analyze records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose medical conditions.
• Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care.
• Monitor patients' condition and progress, re-evaluating treatments as necessary.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
• Refer patients to physicians, outside practices, and hospitals as needed.
• Meet with pharmaceutical sales representatives to discuss new developments.
• Manage patient records using the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
• Maintain a portfolio of continuing professional development activities.
• Potentially supervise a Physician’s Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP).
• Attend regular provider meetings with senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and Medical school completion.
• Fellowship in Pain Management.
• Board Certified in Pain Management.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment.
• Excellent listening and verbal communication skills with a diverse range of individuals.
• Ability to work well under pressure and stay calm in emergency situations.
• Ability to think quickly and make decisions in high-pressure environments.
• Highly self-motivated and results-driven.
• Willingness to serve patients in a fast-paced environment.
• Good bedside manner, emotional stability, and ability to make decisions in emergencies.
• Desire for ongoing education to keep up with medical advances.
• Comfortable working with computers.

Benefits & Pay

$350,000 salary plus benefits.
