In addition, this position is tasked with keeping informed of medical developments, drugs, treatments, and medications and promoting health education.The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Conducting day-to-day responsibilities such as seeing patients and responding accordinglyAnalyzing records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose medical condition of patientPrescribing or administering treatment, therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injuryPreform procedures on patients who are qualified for treatmentsMonitoring patients' condition and progress and re-evaluating treatments as necessaryMaintaining strict patient confidentiality in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)Referring patients to physicians and outside practices and hospitals in conjunction with patient diagnosisMeeting with and discussing the development of new pharmaceuticals with sales representativesManaging patient records using the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systemMaintaining a portfolio of continuing professional development activitiesPotentially supervising a Physician’s Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP)Attend regular provider meetings with senior management Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Bachelor’s degree + Medical schoolFellowship in Pain ManagementBoard CertifiedStrong interpersonal skills and good judgmentGood listening skills; strong verbal communication skills with a diverse range of individualsMust have the ability to work well under pressure and stay calm/focused on emergency situationsAbility to think on feetBe highly self-motivated and results-driven individualHave the willingness to serve patients in a high-pressure environmentGood bedside manner, be emotionally stable and have the ability to make decisions in emergency situationsA desire for further education to keep up with ever changing medical advancesBe comfortable working with computers
