Paid on Call Fire fighter - Big Lake

About the role

Become an on-call firefighter with the Big Lake Fire Department. Timely emergency response is key, so all on-call firefighters must reside within a designated area of the City of Big Lake or Big Lake Township.

Responsibilities

• Complete approximately 200 hours of required training during the probationary period covering fire suppression, search and rescue, emergency medical response, hazardous materials, and more.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum age of 18
• Valid Minnesota Class D driver’s license
• Must live within 7 miles of the Big Lake Fire Station
• Pass all required pre-employment screenings, including a physical exam

Qualifications

• Starting rate of pay at $16.50 per hour

• Starting rate of pay at $16.50 per hour

• On-call schedule varies based on department needs
