Page Six Video Lead Editor
About the Role
The Page Six video team at The New York Post is seeking a Lead Video Editor to create compelling, shareable videos about celebrities, fashion, and entertainment—core subjects of the nation’s most iconic gossip column. This role involves leading the editing of high-priority video series, both audience favorites and branded content, while supervising a team of editors in a fast-paced newsroom environment. You’ll collaborate with producers, creative leadership, and production management to develop engaging multimedia storytelling, pitch video ideas, and ensure high-quality output under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Lead the editing and post-production of high-priority Page Six video series, branded content, and celebrity-focused digital features optimized for social and web platforms.
- Supervise and mentor video editors by providing creative direction, workflow guidance, troubleshooting support, and quality control in a fast-paced newsroom.
- Edit compelling, digitally native videos using original footage, stock assets, and social media content while maintaining Page Six’s signature voice and style.
- Collaborate with producers, creative leadership, and production management to develop graphics packages, thumbnails, sizzle reels, and promotional assets to drive audience engagement.
- Pitch timely celebrity, fashion, and entertainment video concepts daily, contributing innovative storytelling ideas aligned with trending topics.
- Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, ensuring efficient turnaround, media organization, backups, and adherence to production schedules.
- Apply advanced post-production techniques, including color correction, audio mixing, multi-cam editing, and vertical video formatting using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop).
- Create custom graphics and thumbnails to improve click-through rates and coordinate media backups with the production management team.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience editing celebrity videos for digital outlets.
- Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.
- Ability to color correct, mix audio, and create vertical videos for social platforms.
- Experience with multi-cam editing and motion graphics (a plus but not required).
- Strong editorial sense and ability to select music that matches the tone and style of the story.
- Ability to work quickly under pressure, pitch video ideas daily, and contribute to team brainstorming.
- Organized, collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for celebrity journalism, fashion, and social media trends.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends on rare occasions.
- Experience working autonomously in a fast-paced newsroom with weekly deadlines.
This role is expected to be on-site in the New York metro area five days per week.
Pay
Base pay range: $100,000 – $120,000. This range reflects our good-faith estimate for the role and may vary based on experience, skills, and other relevant factors. Bonus-eligible roles have targets determined by market benchmarks and individual contributions.
