Page Six Reporter (Tues-Sat)
About the role
The New York Post delivers news, sports, pop culture, and entertainment with unmatched speed, attitude, and authority, reaching more than 90 million unique viewers each month. Page Six Digital is the modern evolution of the iconic gossip column, delivering the latest in celebrity news, entertainment, and pop culture with a bold, fast-paced digital edge. As the go-to destination for breaking stories, exclusive scoops, and viral moments, Page Six has grown into a dynamic, multi-platform brand.
This role is based in NYC or LA and requires on-site work 5 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Pitch and write several celebrity- and entertainment-based stories quickly and with clean copy daily
- Proactively seek out and uncover under-the-radar stories that will resonate with the Page Six audience
- Monitor social media to stay ahead of trends and create content that fits fan interests
- Expand Page Six’s nighttime news coverage using analytics tools (Google Analytics, Parse.ly, etc.)
- Work as a self-starter, think quickly, and multitask in a fast-paced news environment
- Apply SEO best practices and analytics to guide coverage
- Cover live pop culture events (e.g., Oscars, Golden Globes) outside traditional business hours when needed
Qualifications
- At least two years of major journalism experience
- Deep understanding of and passion for celebrity and entertainment news
- Exceptional writing and reporting skills
- Ability to write succinct, eye-catching headlines and clean, ready-to-publish content
- Knowledge of SEO best practices
- Strong editorial judgment and communication skills
- Familiarity with content management systems (WordPress), photo editing software, and web analytics tools
Schedule
Tuesday–Friday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM EST
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST
Pay
Base pay range: $60,000 – $75,000. This range reflects our good faith estimate and may vary based on experience, skills, location, and other factors.
