PACU Registered Nurse - Per Diem

About the role

Provides direct patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, promoting safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
• Educate patients and families on post-treatment care, medication, and recovery
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, addressing physical, psychosocial, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs
• Participate in professional development and contribute to a healing environment
• Use critical thinking to evaluate patient conditions and communicate care plans effectively

Qualifications & Skills

• Nursing diploma or associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred
• RN license is mandatory
• Critical care experience is preferred but not required
• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment with alertness and professionalism
• Strong communication, assessment, and teamwork skills are essential

Key Duties

• Manage a 90-bed PACU, caring for neuro, transplant, ortho, ENT, cardio, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and spine patients
• Participate in call rotations and work rotating shifts, including weekends
• Contribute to a fast-paced, high-acuity setting with opportunities for career growth through a professional development ladder
