About the role
PACU Nurse responsible for immediate post-operative patient care, including airway management, neurological and cardiac monitoring, wound care, and ensuring patient stability during recovery.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams
- Assess and document patient conditions
- Educate patients and families
- Respond promptly to complications
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
Key Duties
- Manage airway support
- Monitor patient neurological and cardiac status
- Respond to complications
- Provide initial wound care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based patient care
Qualifications & Skills
- RN license with an associate degree
- At least 1 year of critical care experience (ICU, ER, PACU)
- Certifications in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 30 days)
- PALS (within 6 months)
- Strong critical thinking, technical, and leadership skills required
