PACU Nurse

About the Role

The PACU Nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of practice, utilizing therapeutic communication and maintaining a safe environment. The role includes acting as charge nurse, ensuring quality care, assigning staff based on patient acuity and skill, and serving as a clinical resource.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and plan individualized care with an interdisciplinary approach
• Perform age-specific assessments and care while maintaining patient confidentiality
• Document care accurately, follow procedures, and demonstrate critical thinking
• Coordinate care to align with hospital mission and goals
• Participate in performance improvement activities
• Assign staff based on patient acuity and skill level
• Serve as a clinical resource and ensure adherence to privacy and confidentiality standards

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
• Current RN licensure in the relevant state
• Current BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, CPI, and TNCC preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of ICU, ER, or PACU RN experience
