Packing Trainee- 1st Shift

About the role

The Saw Operator (Inspecting and Packing Material) position within the A1 Packing department is responsible for assisting in the packing of cartons according to customer specifications. This includes folding cartons, placing products inside, sealing cartons, affixing labels, loading materials onto pallets, and completing necessary paperwork for shipping.

Responsibilities

• Properly packaging finished product to customer specifications.
• Attaches identification data onto articles.
• Records factors of damaged goods.
• Affirm cores are of proper length for product and set correctly.
• Work in a safe manner always wearing all required Proper Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean, clutter-free workstation.
• Able to participate in a team-oriented environment.
• Comply with safety policies and procedures.
• Accept feedback from the Team Leader to ensure the bundles meet safety standards.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Must pass a skills-based test.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently, self-motivated, self-starter with a minimum of three (3) months related experience and/or will train hands on.
• Must pass company background check and drug screen.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Pay

$19.24 starting pay with the ability to earn more.

Schedule

1st shift Monday – Friday 5:00 am -1:00 pm. 40+ hours per week over the course of 5 days some overtime may require through the week and occasionally on Saturdays.
